Kopin Software

Introduction

Kopin software is the mobile app division of Kopin, a multinational company that is a market leader in wearable displays. They have a consumer product called Solos which is aimed at cyclists that wish to have a head up display of their current metrics. The Solos unit is a set of riding glasses with a micro display providing an augmented view of the world ahead and the Solos display controlled by an iOS and Android app. Solos has the capability to be controlled by voice and has a group chat feature, users can also be navigated through voice prompts and on screen directions.

The Android app required bug fixes allowing the Kopin Software team to implement V2 features, theses ranged from simple text changes to UI/UX changes and to fixing features of the app that were broken. A big part of the app that needed fixing was some of the voice commands, “Aria”, Aria uses the Nuance SDK to understand commands and put the app in different states to respond, it was this state machine that needed fixing providing new routes through the app
